Update

Hello!

Only 2 more Fridays until this semester ends. Please private message me if you will NOT be attending winter semester (Jan-March). I have a waiting list and I need to let those families know by the end of this semester if their child has a spot.

First day of Winter Semester will be Friday, January 9th. We will be doing a recital on Friday March 20th (Spring Break is the following week). Also, I will be gone on February 11-18th on vacation so no ballet during those days.

Merci Beaucoup all you wonderful ballet families, it has been a great semester of hard work and progress!

A few Dates to Remember

November 21st last day of semester.

A few things...

I really don't like making "rules" but I thought we should set up a few things before ballet starts.

*No Trampoline use during Friday Ballet
(For safety of students and siblings and liability reasons. And there usually is not any supervision.)

*You may use the play house but please clean up after yourself.

*Parents, please do not leave children (students or siblings) unattended during Friday ballet in my yard, playhouse, etc. I am not able to watch them because I am teaching.

*Remember no street shoes on the marley floor. No food and drink (besides water) allowed in studio.

*Please feel free to park in front of studio, on my driveway on the north side. My drive through driveway is great for drop offs. Parking on the road can be dangerous for through traffic.

Merci Beaucoup

Also, I need all Ballet III students to order THIS book.

Pool Party June 21st 10-12 High Desert Swim Pool

Saturday from 10-noon is our POOL PARTY to celebrate a great performance! (Hopefully the weather warms up by then.) This is for ballet students as a reward (sorry no siblings), we will do a short barre in the pool for fun.

I will have a sign up for summer camp which is August 5-7 (my current students are encouraged to attend to maintain technique). It would also be great if you could bring your registration form for Summer/Fall Semester. I need all students planning to continue to fill out the new form. I will have some there if you don't have the one I sent home a couple of weeks ago. I can email it to you as well.

Disney Recital FRIDAY!

Reminder about Rehearsal Thursday, June 12th
5-6 pm Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet I,
6-7 pm Ballet II, and Ballet III.
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT COSTUME, HAIR or MAKEUP
Please wear dance wear so we can mark out our places on the stage and run through it a couple of times.

PERFORMANCE DAY June 13th, please be there between 5-5:30. Performance starts at 7. Please bring 1-2 dozen cookies per family to share for our after show reception.

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Alice Herauf invited us to perform during Slater Grade School's last assembly. They have some gals singing "Let it Go" from the movie Frozen, so we thought it would be fun to have Ballet II perform "In Summer" on  June 10th at 1:45. However the dancers need to be in costume by 1:30 before the assembly starts and bring your top hats as well. This will be a great practice before the recital. I will need all dancers to sit together so it will run more smoothly.

Mark your Calendars!

Spring Ballet Recital will be Friday, June 13th at Lincoln Auditorium.

To finish the semester off right, Steens Mountain Ballet will host a ballet dancer pool party Saturday, June 21st from 10-noon at the Hi-Desert Swim Pool. We will have a short water ballet class then let the dancers swim and play. Snacks and drinks provided. In ballet class we discuss how our arm movements should be like we are moving through water.
