Hello!

Only 2 more Fridays until this semester ends. Please private message me if you will NOT be attending winter semester (Jan-March). I have a waiting list and I need to let those families know by the end of this semester if their child has a spot.

First day of Winter Semester will be Friday, January 9th. We will be doing a recital on Friday March 20th (Spring Break is the following week). Also, I will be gone on February 11-18th on vacation so no ballet during those days.

A few things...

I really don't like making "rules" but I thought we should set up a few things before ballet starts.

*No Trampoline use during Friday Ballet
(For safety of students and siblings and liability reasons. And there usually is not any supervision.)

*You may use the play house but please clean up after yourself.

*Parents, please do not leave children (students or siblings) unattended during Friday ballet in my yard, playhouse, etc. I am not able to watch them because I am teaching.

*Remember no street shoes on the marley floor. No food and drink (besides water) allowed in studio.

*Please feel free to park in front of studio, on my driveway on the north side. My drive through driveway is great for drop offs. Parking on the road can be dangerous for through traffic.

I am so excited for another semester to begin. I also wanted to announce this semester will have our first pointe class! I definitely need new registration forms filled out as well as tuition by Friday.

SUMMER CAMP

STEENS MOUNTAIN BALLET SUMMER CAMP AUGUST 5-7 (Tues., Wed.,Thurs.)
Please wear ballet attire. Bring water bottles. Come ready to dance!

I encourage my current students to come to camp to maintain technique. Just like anything else, you have to use it or you will lose it. :) If your child has not signed up and plans to attend please let me know. Tuition due first day.

Pool Party June 21st 10-12 High Desert Swim Pool

Saturday from 10-noon is our POOL PARTY to celebrate a great performance! (Hopefully the weather warms up by then.) This is for ballet students as a reward (sorry no siblings), we will do a short barre in the pool for fun.

I will have a sign up for summer camp which is August 5-7 (my current students are encouraged to attend to maintain technique). It would also be great if you could bring your registration form for Summer/Fall Semester. I need all students planning to continue to fill out the new form. I will have some there if you don't have the one I sent home a couple of weeks ago. I can email it to you as well.

*Tuition fee covers the ENTIRE trimester (12 weeks)

Dance Class Uniforms

IF A STUDENT IS MOVED UP THEY MAY CONTINUE TO WEAR THEIR EXSISTING COLORS UNTIL THEY GROW OUT OF IT

Girls:
All ages light pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers (split sole for 10+ if desired), and short sleeve leotard (see color by ages below).

ages 3-6 short sleeve Pink Leotard
ages 7-10 short or cap sleeve Lavender Leotard
ages 11+ short or cap sleeve Black Leotard

Black ballet skirts optional

Hair: Tidy and up off face and neck.

Boys:
White T-shirt and sweatpants and black ballet shoes for boys

*Please have dance wear before the first day of class.

Pink Short Sleeve, For ages s 3-6

I really like the Bloch ballet slipper or the Theatricals Economy ballet slipper
For split soled I like the Capezio

Optional: Wrap Around Black Skirts or Pull On Skirt

*Sizing note for ballet slippers. Shoes should fit securely around foot, not too tight but not too loose.
Child sizes go up to about 2 and child size ballet slippers are real close to their street shoe size. Above 2.5 they would purchase in the adult section. Please see child conversion chart

Suggested Fitting:
Women order 2½-3 sizes smaller than street size

First increase the child street shoe size by two. Then follow the suggested fitting for the adult shoe you are purchasing.

*An example for sizing the child to adult. Your daughter wears a size 3 in big kids size so you would first convert that to adult women's street size making it a 5, then you would convert it down 2.5-3 sizes for the ballet sizing. So you would buy a a size 2 or 2 1/2 in women's ballet shoes.
